Wooden Women 1983 - 6
The Wooden Women followed the Shell sculptures as a natural progression

These sculptures were exhibited both in galleries and outdoor venues in group
exhibitions over a 6 year period at a number of venues including:-
Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield; Kildrummy Casle, Scotland; Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool;
Cornerhouse Gallery, Manchester; Axiom, Cheltenham;
Blond Fine Art, RIBA, Serpentine and The Tate Gallery, London; Plymouth Arts Centre;
Harris Museum, Preston; etc
During the summer of 1985, for 3 months, I was artist in residence at Grizedale
Forest, Cumbria. I made two large oak women, one of which still remains on the
island in the middle of Grizedale Beck at Force Falls.
